From Startup to Established: How We Built Engage Wellness a Brand That Grew With Them

When Lenee, one of the founders of Engage Wellness, first reached out, the business was brand new and ready to get in front of employers. They had a meaningful mission and a program they believed in, but they didn’t yet have the marketing materials to confidently walk into meetings and explain what they do.

If you’ve ever been in that stage of business, you already know the pressure: you’re doing great work, you’re ready to grow… but your brand doesn’t look as professional as you feel. That gap can slow you down. It can make people hesitate. Not because your business isn’t solid, but because your visuals aren’t helping you communicate the value fast enough.

The Starting Point: Business Cards & a Meeting-Ready Marketing Kit (2018)

In 2018, Engage needed the basics—quickly. Understanding the need for speed, we still started the way I always like to start: by clarifying what they needed to communicate in the simplest, clearest way possible. What should someone understand within the first 10 seconds of seeing their materials? What do employers care about most? What’s the “this is why it matters” message?

Once we had that direction, we moved into creating the pieces they needed to show up professionally with materials that looked legit, felt consistent, and made it easier to start sales conversations without stumbling through explanations. We started with business cards and a starter brochure that they could bring to businesses and start building relationships right away.

That first project became the start of an ongoing design partnership. Because as Engage Wellness grew, its marketing needs grew too, and instead of reinventing the wheel every time, we built on what already worked.

Building Clarity: Print Materials That Explain the Program

As the business expanded, the biggest need became marketing that could explain their program even when Engage wasn’t in the room.

That’s where the 8-page brochure came in. It’s designed to guide the reader through what Engage offers in a way that feels organized, credible, and easy to understand, with a flow that helps employers connect the dots and feel confident about next steps.

From there, we created supporting print materials that fit different moments in their sales and communication process:

  • A tri-fold handout for quick conversations and meeting takeaways with employees
  • A workplace poster that can be posted onsite so employees can easily see what benefits are available and actually use them

Each piece was created with the same goal: keep the message consistent, keep it easy to follow, and make Engage look as professional as the program actually is.

Expanding Online: A Lead-Generating Website That Works While They’re Busy

As Engage continued to grow, we moved into building a stronger digital foundation with a lead-generating website.

This is where the process really shines, because websites can get messy fast if you skip the “clarify” part. So we aligned on what the site needed to do: educate employers, build trust, and guide people toward action. We focused on structure, content flow, and the visual system so the website didn’t just “look nice,” it supported the sales process.

The result is a website that acts like a hub: a place where potential clients can learn about Engage’s employee benefits, understand what’s included, and take the next step without needing a full call just to get the basics.

The Real Win: Consistency & Ongoing Support as They Grow

The best part of this story isn’t just the deliverables. It’s what happens when a business has a consistent brand system and someone they can call when things move fast.

Engage doesn’t have to scramble every time they need something new. They don’t have to start from scratch or guess what “on brand” means. They can come to me with a new need—an update, a rush request, a new initiative—and we can move quickly because the foundation is already there.

That’s how you go from “brand new and building” to “established and confident.” Not with one big rebrand moment, but with steady, strategy-led design that keeps pace with growth, and having a go-to designer in your corner who can keep everything cohesive as your business evolves.
